Midis & Longline Coats

It’s winter and I’m here to talk about the importance of (ONLY) wearing longline coats with midis because no other coat will do the job. Lol, that’s no fashion rule of course but it’s a Lex Brionna rule and I’m gonna explain why.

First, let’s be sure we know what a midi is. A midi is simply a skirt or dress that has a hemline that finishes somewhere between the bottom of the knee and the bottom of the calf. Here’s an example of a midi dress:

As you can see, these dresses/skirts are much longer than a regular hip length coat. The normal hip/thigh length coat creates horrible outfit proportions when paired with midis.

Don’t get me wrong I’ve seen women pull off a short leather or denim jacket with midis but it still looks much more basic and a lot cheaper. With fitted midis, there is absolutely no outerwear that will look better than the longline coat.

Longline coats not only help to give a more flattering look, they also make your outfit look much more expensive. Finding the right structured coat will make any cheap midi look lavish.
